Statement by Texas Farm Bureau President Kenneth Dierschke on Rep. Mike Conaway’s appointment

“I am doubly pleased to congratulate my friend Representative Mike Conaway on being named chair of the U.S. House Agriculture Committee. Not only has Mike served agriculture all across the nation in important ways, but he is the member of Congress who represents me.

Mike has been a member of the Agriculture Committee since beginning his service in Congress in 2005. Most recently, he’s been chair of the General Commodities Subcommittee. He has worked on two farm bills.

Mike Conaway has been a tireless advocate for farm and ranch families and for a safe and secure U.S. food supply. Our members look forward to working with him in this important new role.”
