Texas Farm Bureau calls for applications to receive wildfire relief funds

Texas Farm Bureau calls for applications to receive wildfire relief funds

There was more than $25 million in damage resulting from the Texas Panhandle wildfires. The Texas Farm Bureau is calling for affected farmers and ranchers to submit applications to receive funds donated to help cover unreimbursed losses. The deadline is May 1.

“We know many agricultural operations were hard hit by the wildfires,” said Texas Farm Bureau President Russell Boening. “A lot of our members, friends of agriculture and other organizations have helped raise money through our foundation to help meet these needs.”

Boening says a form to apply can be found on the TFB website, www.texasfarmbureau.org. Farmers and ranchers with unreimbursed losses are encouraged to apply.

The organization is still collecting funds through the Texas Agriculture Research and Education Foundation. Contributions are tax-deductible and all funds collected will be distributed.
