Texas Farm Bureau honors Robertson for excellence in journalism

SAN ANTONIO, Texas—Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) has honored Marc Robertson, editor of the Frio-Nueces Current, with its 2013 Excellence in Journalism award for outstanding coverage of Texas agricultural issues. Robertson received the award during TFB’s 80th Annual Meeting Dec. 8 in San Antonio.

The Frio-Nueces Current serves Frio and La Salle counties, and covers local people, programs, places and events. The La Salle County Farm Bureau (CFB) board of directors nominated Robertson for the award in the category for publications distributed to markets under 50,000 in population.

“The Frio-Nueces Current has been very helpful in our effort to inform the public on issues related to agriculture,” La Salle CFB stated in the nomination. “Marc Robertson has extensively covered agriculture-related events associated with both counties.”

The nominating county also noted Robertson’s commitment to informing the public on the issue involving the Texas Department of Transportation converting Farm-to-Market roads to gravel.

“We believe Marc Robertson has remained dedicated to covering agricultural events and informing the public on key issues related to agriculture,” the nomination added.
