Texas A&M University wins Collegiate Farm Bureau Quiz Bowl

(ARLINGTON, Texas)—Texas A&M University took home the top honor and $3,000 prize during the Collegiate Farm Bureau Quiz Bowl competition hosted at Texas Farm Bureau’s 92nd Annual Meeting in Arlington.

The second annual competition featured eight teams representing five universities from across the state—Texas A&M University, West Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University, Sam Houston State University and Tarleton State University.

The competition allows college students to showcase their teamwork and knowledge of Farm Bureau, agriculture and Texas. Designed as a motivational and educational tool, the quiz bowl encourages critical thinking, quick decision-making and cooperation in a competitive, yet friendly, environment.

“Events like this highlight the passion and potential of young leaders in Texas agriculture,” TFB President Russell Boening said. “They’re learning how to work together, think on their feet and communicate effectively, all of which are essential skills needed for agriculture and any career field.”

Each Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter could be represented by up to two teams, and all participants were required to be active members in good standing. The double-elimination tournament structure ensured teams had multiple opportunities to compete, fostering both strategy and perseverance.

West Texas A&M University earned the runner-up title and a $2,000 prize.

“The knowledge and enthusiasm displayed by these students speak volumes about the future of Farm Bureau and Texas agriculture,” Boening said. “Congratulations to Texas A&M for winning this year’s contest and to all the students for showing up and competing.”
