Brazoria-Galveston County Farm Bureau wins coveted Golden Buckle Award

(Round Rock, Texas)—Brazoria-Galveston County Farm Bureau earned the coveted Golden Buckle Award for its commitment to promoting agriculture and strengthening community ties in an increasingly urban region.

The group received the award at TFB’s 91st Annual Meeting in Round Rock.

The award celebrates the county’s outstanding achievements in legislative advocacy, educational outreach and member engagement.

Brazoria-Galveston County Farm Bureau leaders played a pivotal role in legislative and policy discussions, ensuring that the voice of agriculture was heard at the local, state, and national levels. They also developed impactful programs to encourage agricultural advocacy among members and the broader community.

Their efforts extended to classrooms, where they shared accurate agricultural information and hands-on programs with students, fostering a greater understanding of farmers and ranchers do.

The county organization also focused on growing its Young Farmer & Rancher program by hosting events and creating opportunities for young agricultural leaders to connect, learn and lead.

“The success of Brazoria-Galveston County Farm Bureau exemplifies how teamwork and innovative strategies can bridge the gap between urban and rural communities, ensuring agriculture remains a vital part of the region’s identity,” TFB President Russell Boening said.

As the winner, Brazoria-Galveston County Farm Bureau received a $10,000 prize, and each county director will receive a custom-made belt buckle.

The first runner-up was Montgomery County Farm Bureau. They received a $5,000 prize.

As the second runner-up, Smith County Farm Bureau received $2,500.
