Roderick wins Texas Farm Bureau YF&R Discussion Meet

(ARLINGTON, Texas)—Sarah Roderick of El Paso County won the 2025 Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) Young Farmer & Rancher Discussion Meet during the organization’s 92nd annual meeting.

Roderick is the events and outreach coordinator for AgSpire, a company that partners with farmers and ranchers across the country to implement sustainable and regenerative practices.

In her role, Roderick conducts interviews, manages digital marketing and leads outreach efforts to promote AgSpire’s mission of equipping farmers and ranchers with tools to strengthen their operations.

Roderick remains actively involved on her family’s ranch in Marfa, where her family runs 750 Angus cows on 60,000 acres of land that has been in their family since the 1850s.

“Through the Discussion Meet, young Farm Bureau members talk about current challenges facing agriculture,” TFB President Russell Boening said. “They are able to talk through possible solutions or develop goals for improvement. Their ideas and thoughts are important as agriculture continues to change and adapt.”

During the discussion meet, the contestants build basic discussion skills, develop a deeper understanding of agricultural issues and explore how groups can pool knowledge to reach consensus and solve problems through discussion.

Roderick will receive an ATV with an estimated prize value of $9,000, courtesy of Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company; and an expense-paid trip to compete in the national contest during the American Farm Bureau Federation Annual Convention.

Also in the final four were Wyatt Rasmusson of Bowie County, Lyle Logemann of Erath County and Layton Schur of Hale County.
