Statement from Texas Farm Bureau President Russell W. Boening on landowners’ lawsuit against Bureau of Land Management:

“A lawsuit filed on behalf of landowners and county officials by the Texas Public Policy Foundation is the latest attempt to recover private property claimed by the federal government along the Red River. Texas Farm Bureau welcomes all efforts to resolve this issue in favor of property owners whose private property rights are being threatened.

For years, Texas Farm Bureau has worked to raise public awareness of these landowners’ concerns. Our organization has long stood with property owners, like Tommy Henderson, in this dispute with the Bureau of Land Management. We’ve witnessed the recovery of Tommy’s land and we hope to see positive outcomes for other affected landowners. Texas Farm Bureau will also continue to work with Congressman Mac Thornberry on his bill for a legislative solution.”
