Texas Farm Bureau 92nd Annual Meeting set for Dec. 5-7

(WACO, Texas)— Policy discussions, membership recognition and a weekend of fellowship are slated for the 92nd Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) Annual Meeting, which will be held Dec. 5-7 in Arlington.

“Ninety-two years of service and advocacy is a milestone worth celebrating,” Boening said. “But what matters most is continuing that work for the generations of farmers and ranchers still to come.”

Voting delegates from the 205 county Farm Bureaus across the state will work together to craft policy positions and prepare for the challenges agriculture faces.

“The business session remains at the heart of our annual meeting,” Boening said. “It’s where members lead the discussion on issues facing farmers, ranchers and rural Texans, and where we shape grassroots policy to strengthen agriculture in Texas and across the nation.”

Meeting activities
Members and county Farm Bureaus will be recognized for several awards, including Pioneer Awards and Communications Awards.

One county Farm Bureau will receive the coveted Golden Buckle Award. Counties will also be recognized for the County Activities of Excellence Awards.

The Young Farmer & Rancher Discussion Meet will be held during the meeting, and winners of the Outstanding Young Farmer & Rancher and Excellence in Agriculture contests will be named.

Additional awards and recognitions will be announced throughout the weekend.

Commodity sessions
Commodity sessions in the 2026 Agricultural Outlook are open to all attendees and will begin Friday afternoon at 1 p.m.

The sessions will provide members the opportunity to hear from experts and engage in discussions on topics affecting Texas agriculture, including implementation of changes to the loans and grants available through the Texas Agricultural Finance Authority and the ongoing New World screwworm threat. Dan Hunter, executive director of the Farm Service Agency in Texas, will also provide an agency update.

Family fun night
Members can participate in a family fun night of bingo and football game day activities hosted by the YF&R Advisory Committee.

The evening will begin with a tailgate buffet at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5. Festivities will continue through 10:30 p.m.

Other activities
Members can visit with Peggy Thomas, the award-winning author of The Soil in Jackie’s Garden. Each member-family will be provided one free copy of the book.

Ukrainian farmer Kees Huizinga will address members via Zoom. He’ll share updates about what it’s like farming in a war zone as Russia continues its invasion.
