Texas Farm Bureau applauds passage of H.R. 1 by U.S. House

The following statement may be attributed to Texas Farm Bureau President Russell Boening following the passage of H.R. 1 by the U.S. House of Representatives today. 

“Texas Farm Bureau applauds the U.S. House of Representatives for passing H.R. 1, which includes essential provisions to strengthen the farm safety net and prevent a major tax cliff at the end of this year.

“Farm and ranch families are currently facing the most significant downturn in the farm economy in decades. By raising reference prices, increasing investments in farm programs, and making key tax provisions permanent, H.R. 1 will help farmers and ranchers stay in business and help them pass their family operations to the next generation.

“Texas Farm Bureau urges the U.S. Senate to pass this legislation and send it to President Trump’s desk for his signature. Texas farmers and ranchers need and deserve action now.”
