Texas farmers, ranchers benefit from U.S. Supreme Court decision reversing Chevron deference
The following statement may be attributed to Texas Farm Bureau President Russell Boening regarding today’s decision by the U.S. Supreme Court overturning a 1984 decision known as the Chevron doctrine.
“This is a good day for Texas farmers and ranchers and a bad day for government regulatory overreach. The Chevron doctrine allowed federal regulatory agencies for the past 40 years to expand their regulations beyond the intent of Congress. This decision by the U.S. Supreme Court puts an end to that harmful overreach. Farmers and ranchers, like many small business owners, suffer hardships from federal agencies that regulate well beyond the scope of what Congress intended. The court’s decision reigns in this unlawful practice.”
