YOUR TEXAS AGRICULTURE MINUTE

YOUR TEXAS AGRICULTURE MINUTE

Growing future leaders through FFA

By Gary Joiner
TFB Radio Network Manager

A sea of blue corduroy jackets floods Fort Worth as the 91st annual Texas FFA State Convention kicks off this week.

It’s youth leadership development at its finest.

Led by students for students, the organization changes lives and prepares students for premier leadership, personal growth and career success.

The relationships and experiences this week and throughout the upcoming year will shape their lives, because FFA membership extends beyond the classroom.

Endless opportunities are available for passionate and motivated students to discover their unique talents.

And as FFA members from across the Lone Star State put on their blue and gold jackets, they harness their talents and create a unified voice.

The future can seem like a scary place. But, through the FFA, members are laying a solid foundation for generations to come. They are the future of agriculture. And the future of science, engineering, government and entrepreneurship.

The preceding commentary is brought to you by Texas Farm Bureau, the “Voice of Texas Agriculture.” Called “Your Texas Agriculture Minute,” TFB will issue thought-provoking editorials each week—via print and audio—to spark understanding of agriculture in the Lone Star State and its impact on each and every Texan.

You may read this week’s editorial above or listen to the audio version.
